From the mouth of a toddler

I've decided to start keeping track of the hilarious things that Tyler says and does. He's definitely a toddler, and his little personality is so adorable. I hope to update this post often, adding recent comments that sparked laughter in the McKinney household.

2/22/11- My mom came over to visit. She was rubbing my belly and saying, "Grayson, wake up. Are you in there? Hello?" Tyler walks over, and upon hearing this, makes a fist and knocks on my belly, as if it were a door.

2/27/11- Tyler and I were hanging out in the playroom. He walks over to me, softly touches my belly and calls it a "ball." Then, he proceeds to point to every ball in his playroom to make the comparison.

February- While Tyler was taking a bath, he pointed to his pee pee and wanted to know what it was called. I told him "pee pee," and he repeated it. Days later, I was using the restroom, and Tyler walked in (because toddlers don't understand privacy with their parents). He looks at me for an explanation. I told him that mommy was going "pee pee." He looks down and shakes his head "no." I guess I need to work on my terminology. Pee Pee can't be a noun and a verb, ha.

3/1/11- In light of the upcoming arrival of Baby Grayson, we borrowed a baby doll from Jennifer. We've been teaching Tyler to be gentle, not touch the baby in the swing, etc. Several nights ago, Chad showed Tyler how we'll put the baby to sleep in Grayson's crib. Yesterday, we noticed that the baby was missing from the bouncy chair in the living room. After looking all over the house, we found the baby face-down on the inside edge of Grayson's crib. Apparently, Tyler thought it was time for the baby to go to bed.

3/2/11- We've been working on discipline. While upstairs playing with his toys, Tyler looks down and starts telling his helicopter, "no, no, no" in a very stern voice. He was reprimanding the toy helicopter for getting it's string caught on the wheel.
